Quinnipiac students bring pet medication to seniors in Southington

SOUTHINGTON — Dozens of senior citizens interacted by medication animals Monday, provided by Quinnipiac University occupational medication students. The crew from Quinnipiac brought a medication dog & 3 miniature horses to Live Well, a dementia care facility serving day visitors & further than hundred complete-time inhabitants. Donna Latella, a Quinnipiac occupational medication professor, teaches an elective class on animal medication, including equine. He said Live Well's patients were encouraged however not required to interact by the medication animals, giving them a Selection & maintaining their personal power. Before the group visited Southington, the 20 students in Latella's class brought the animals to Quinnipiac's North Haven campus to interact by students as finals 7 days approaches.
