Jay Inslee has signed a measure banning licensed therapists from trying to change a minor's sexistorientation. Inslee signed the bill Wednesday, joined with supporters of the measure, including Chad Griffin, the president of the D.C.-based Human Rights Campaign. The Fresh law, that takes influence in June, going to deem it "unprofessional conduct" for a licensed health care suppliers to perform conversion medication on a patient under the age of 18. Washington joins ten other states —including California & Oregon — plus the territory of Columbia that have laws or regulations banning conversion medication for LGBT minors.
