Atrium Health suspends merger talks by UNC Health Care
ET)Atrium Health & UNC Health Care reported Friday the 2 systems are suspending merger talks, next vocal criticism from state officials, including North Carolina's treasurer & attorney general.Charlotte-based Atrium signed a letter of intent to innovate a joint venture by UNC Health Care in August. It was subject to a description by North Carolina's attorney general & potentially the Federal Trade Commission as well. Folwell said he never received directory which the bargain would not lift prices.As treasurer, Folwell said he oversees North Carolina's State Health outline, a health outline which covers public employees. "I'm the keeper of the public purse & I must prevent taxpayers of this state & entrants in the state health outline, who are too taxpayers," he said.Folwell said he asked UNC Health Care representatives to provide the State Health outline a $one bn bond guaranteeing a merger by Atrium would not promote medicinal costs for its members & other taxpayers.
