Trainer, medication dog visit library to encourage reading

JULIE DEROSIE & her service & medication dog, Remington, wait at Wakefield Public Library on Saturday to read by children. Remington, a two-year old mixed breed dog, has been trained for several medication situations, however loves to have children read by him. Remington is an enthusiastic two-year old mixed-breed dog who has been trained by DeRosie to provide medication for children & adults. DeRosie & Remington are coming every 30 days to Wakefield Public Library on Saturdays to encourage young people to read.


Blitz the medication dog has made many friends

Blitz is a goldendoodle, a dog crossbred from a golden retriever & a level poodle. Tami Lemley said her original goal was to teach Blitz obedience, however while she decided to begain training him to be a medication dog, he was a natural. Earlier this 30 days, he was recognized by the American Kennel Club as an Achiever Dog & too received his medication Dog Excellent title, medal & patch. Lemley, a dispatcher by the Cloverdale Police section, & Blitz, have been a volunteer dog team in the Animal Assisted Activity programme of the Humane community of Sonoma province ever ever 2012. Blitz is a Reading Dog in the Read to a Dog programme, & he & Lemley orderly visit a premier-grade class in Healdsburg where students take turns reading to him.
