Michigan State to fire medical dean over Nassar scandal

LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Michigan State University says Friday it plans to fire a high-ranking administrator who told police he never followed up after ordering sports doctor Larry Nassar to have a third man present during certain treatments. He still has tenure, But, that protects his employment as a Michigan State faculty member. The Michigan attorney general's office, that is investigating the method Michigan State replied to complaints about Nassar, recently asked the school for Strampel's computer, cellphone & work calendars. "I am happy to have you back in complete practice," Strampel told Nassar in an email. Strampel told police that he did know that Nassar had left USA Gymnastics in 2015.

Michigan State University says Friday it plans to fire the previous dean of its osteopathic medicine college & has commented its radiology chairman in the wake of previous sports doctor Larry Nassar's sentencing for molesting young female athletes. A Title IX probe conducted with the university cleared Nassar of sexistassault allegations in 2014. Recently, a special counsel appointed with Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette asked Michigan State for Strampel's work computer, his work cellphone & his work calendars. They too requested "all records" of any university investigation into the Nassar matter, including a description conducted with previous Chicago federal claimant Patrick Fitzgerald. He was hired with the school & has says no bady there knew which Nassar committed crimes.
