Cute kitten rescued in Medical Center after suffering three... stat : KSAT

SAN ANTONIO - A kitten was rescued Thursday morning after a soggy three days hiding under a traffic pole in San Antonio's Medical Center. The frightened little tabby cat crawled under the concrete lip of a traffic pole near the busy intersection of Floyd Curl and Medical Drive. As soon as the kitten was freed from the wire-filled pole, it was rushed to Animal Care Services veterinary clinic for care. Animal Care Officer Daniel White and a crew from San Antonio's Transportation and Capital Improvements Department spent two days trying to lure the kitten out of the metal pole. The kitten will need a foster family to continue recovery while he gains weight before he is ready for adoption.

The Metropolitan Police Department, the D.C. medical examiner and top officials with the Washington DC VA Medical Center are investigating the discovery of the body of a military veteran in a car outside the medical center in May. The large DC VA Medical Center, which sits along Irving Street near North Capitol Street in Northwest, has a large, open-air parking lot near its main entrance. "I am absolutely outraged that a veteran who served our nation died alone, in his car, outside the DC VA Medical Center. The veteran's sister said she searched the parking lot herself after the VA medical center failed multiple requests to find the man. The U.S. House Committee on Veterans Affairs, which oversees the agency and its D.C. medical center, said it is also investigating.
