Washington Times : declared in Eagles help therapy dog through cancer

She was certified as a therapy dog about five years ago and since then, she has touched many lives. When she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer last September, defenseman Jake Marto of the minor league Colorado Eagles hockey team stepped in to help the dog through her own ordeal. Now, MoDo will step back into the community as a therapy dog with the players, her friends, her teammates. But before she could really start her new mission with the Eagles, MoDo herself faced the challenge of cancer. "How cool is that?"A team missionBefore MoDo was diagnosed with cancer, she was about to join the Eagles as an official therapy dog, attending different community events with players.

Clovis horse therapy ranch asks for community help during storm season

It's very expensive times, times 19. Heart of the Horse is a local horse therapy ranch in Clovis and they're looking for some heartfelt donations. "We have to clean their stalls every day, two times," Adams explained. "That is why the nonprofit organization is asking for donations to help provide the horses with bedding. "Our horses are used to being out and running around," said Guy Adams, who runs the ranch.Adams said the conditions are bad on the 20-acre property.


Casper began his therapy work in 2009, and whenever his service vest goes on, he knows it's time to do his job. Everyone's favorite therapy dog was in need of therapy himself. In late January, Neff graduated Casper from physical therapy after he made a full recovery. Kinsel senses that Casper feels lost without his hospital work, and she holds out hope that he can return to work soon. Numerous patients and hospital staff members turned out to sing to him.
