SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA – BART is reporting major delays this evening in Berkeley in all directions due to a medical emergency at the Ashby station earlier today.BART spokesman Jim Allison said a person was reported under a train around 4:40 p.m.Emergency crews responded and were able to remove the person, who is alive and has since been transported to a hospital with unknown injuries, according to BART officials.

BERKELEY (CBS SF) — BART passengers were experiencing major delays system-wide Saturday evening after a major medical emergency involving a person under a train in Berkeley earlier today, according to a transit spokesman.BART spokesman Jim Allison said the incident was reported at 4:40 p.m. at the Ashby BART station.Ashby station was closed while emergency crews worked to remove the person, identified as an adult man, from the tracks.

Medical emergency shuts Ashby BART station Saturday afternoonThe Ashby BART station in Berkeley was closed briefly Saturday because of what transit officials described as a major medical emergency.At 4:40 p.m., a passenger reported seeing an adult man on the tracks, said BART spokesman Jim Allison.Emergency responders removed him from the track and transported him to Highland Hospital.
