HOLYOKE - Holyoke Medical Center has once again earned an "A" rating from The Leapfrog Group, ranking them among the safest hospitals in the United States.The new Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades, which assign A, B, C, D and F letter grades to hospitals nationwide and provide the most complete picture of patient safety in the U.S., were announced this week by The Leapfrog Group, a national patient safety watchdog.Holyoke Medical Center was one of 844 hospitals to receive an "A", ranking among the safest hospitals in the United States.

SPRINGFIELD — A fire was intentionally set in a women's bathroom in the Baystate Medical Center's Daley building, according to Dennis Leger, spokesman for the Springfield Fire Department.Springfield firefighters were called to the scene at approximately 6 p.m. on Saturday to find the fire already largely extinguished.Leger said that the city's Arson Squad subsequently investigated and had determined that the fire appears to have been set on purpose.
