County health insurance costs to increase 4.9 percent
The Anoka County Board Sept. 27 unanimously renewed the county's health care insurance package with Blue Cross Blue Shield for 2017 with an overall 4.9 percent increase over this year.This will be the second year of a three-year contract with Blue Cross Blue Shield, which originally included a maximum 8.5 percent increase for 2017.Commissioner Rhonda Sivarajah, chairperson of the County Board, praised staff for negotiating the proposed increase down to 4.9 percent.
