Home health care boss admits to kickbacksThe owner of one of the state's largest home health care companies admitted in federal court Wednesday that he paid nearly $790,000 in bribes to doctors in exchange for patient referrals.His Lemont-based firm, Home Bound Healthcare Inc., has also agreed to pay $6.8 million to the government related to Medicare reimbursements the company received, the U.S. Attorney's Office said in a news release.Romy Macasaet Jr. is Home Bound's president and majority owner, and, as part of the settlement with the government, he has agreed to resign from the company and divest his ownership in the business, which has seven offices in Illinois and Nevada, according to the release and court filings.
