City council tables health insurance decision

The city received communication from East Central Council of Local Governments to renew the Direct Services Contract for public transit, which council voted unanimously to renew. With a six percent health insurance premium increase proposed by CEBT, Burlington city council members tabled making any policy renewal decisions until city administrator James Keehne has an opportunity to collect additional data regarding the information presented at the Monday, March 27 council meeting. Along with researching rates stated in the CEBT proposal, Keehne will also gather employee feedback to aid in making a good plan council may use to move forth with at the next meeting. Keehne introduced Lorraine Trotter, president/partner of Professional Management Solutions in Denver, whose entity was hired to provide accounting services on the city's 2016 accounts and prepare for the annual audit. Reform healthcare, let health insurance follow
We need to reform Healthcare and let health insurance follow form. Congressmen take note: Health Insurance is to healthcare as car insurance is to car. For some obscure reason, both the Democrats and the Republicans who set out to reform Healthcare reformed Health Insurance instead. The reason the cost of health insurance is so high is because the cost of healthcare is so high. Granted that they are inextricably entwined, healthcare and health insurance are not the same thing.
