As one local person said in a letter to the editor, health care policy is both extremely complicated and extraordinarily personal. "Nobody knew health care could be so complicated."Of course, some people knew, but now almost everyone is realizing just how complicated our health care system is, at least when considering policy. Those costs make the health care debate more complex than poor people giving up their smartphones, as one congressman suggested, so they could pay for health care. The personal part of health care isn't just because health can turn at a moment's notice, no matter how much a person takes care of himself, but also because it is a key component of many personal budgets. At the same time, half the population has little or no health care costs, accounting for just 3 percent of spending.

Health insurance concerns grow among farmers
