according to BOSTON (AP) — A state agency which oversees health insurance for public employees has reversed its decision to limit offerings for hundreds of thousands of state workers & retirees, next criticism from labor unions & political leaders. The Group Insurance Commission voted Thursday to undo a Jan. 18 vote which eliminated 3 great insurance carriers — Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, Fallon society Health & Tufts Health outline. Those insurers currently offer coverage plans for an estimated 430,000 state & municipal employees, their dependents & retirees. Unions which represent public workers had angrily denounced the Former vote to cut the number of insurance carriers obtainable to members, a move commission officials estimated would keep the state about $20 mn.
