State audit finds Scranton School territory gave questionable payouts, health insurance
The Scranton School territory budgeted recklessly, gave health insurance to nonemployees, paid unapproved average increases to its bus contractor & provided questionable payouts to previous employees, according to a state audit launched Tuesday. "This is by far the worse debt situation of any school territory in the state," DePasquale said. "When blaming state & native governments & its taxpayers for the territory's financial woes can be a Common sport, which isn't the status by the Scranton School territory," DePasquale said. In a prior audit, DePasquale called on the board to bid services as a method to keep money.
