State leaders reject call for special session on medical marijuana quoting : Baltimore Sun

There will not be a special legislative session to address charges of racial inequity in Maryland's burgeoning medical marijuana industry. The letter about the special session notes Glenn, a Baltimore Democrat, had already achieved two of the goals she would have sought to accomplish in a special session. His chief of staff, Alexandra Hughes, said the speaker's "unforeseeable" major surgery dashed the possibility of a special session. Larry Hogan can order a special session, but has said he would do so only if Miller and Busch agree on how to change Maryland's medical marijuana law. The Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission is in the process of issuing final licenses to growers, processors and dispensaries and expects medical marijuana to be available to patients this fall.
