"Don't give up Republican senators, the World is watching: Repeal & Replace," Mr. Trump said in a tweet. Republicans hold a 52-48 majority in the Senate, where no Democrats voted for the GOP bill and three Republicans defected in the final vote Friday. Mr. Trump previously said the law that he and others call "Obamacare" would collapse immediately whenever those payments stop. White House budget director Mick Mulvaney, when asked Sunday if no other legislative business should be taken up until the Senate acts again on health care, responded "yes." Mr. Trump tweeted.

White House sends mixed messages on next steps for health care

The White House has not promised to provide payments beyond the end of July. Trump has been goading Republican senators for months to make up their mind on a health care bill — to no avail. Diagnosis for President Trump's health care plans: Terminal confusion. Even so, White House Budget Director Mick Mulvaney said Trump believes the Senate should stop its agenda cold until it finally figures out a health care plan. The health care havoc indicated a desperation for swift action after the Senate last week shot down three bills attempting reforms promised by the GOP.
