Trump threatens to end health care 'bailouts' for insurers, lawmakers according to : Fox News

President Trump on Saturday threatened to end health care "bailouts" for insurers and lawmakers in Washington as he continues to push Congress to pass legislation repealing ObamaCare. "If a new HealthCare Bill is not approved quickly, BAILOUTS for Insurance Companies and BAILOUTS for Members of Congress will end very soon!" Trump tweeted Saturday afternoon. Mick Mulvaney, director of the Office of Management and Budget, recently told insurers such subsidies could end. "But I don't think we'll see a long-term commitment from this administration."Some conservatives have also been pushing the White House to end subsidies to lawmakers and their employees made possible by an Office of Personnel Management exemption. Senate Republicans have repeatedly tried, but failed, to pass legislation that eliminates or overhauls former President Barack Obama's 2010 health care law.

Bill Walker, an independent, did not comment on Zinke's call, but he defended Murkowski's stance on the health care discussion. "I understand there are plenty of moving parts in the health care discussion; however, the facts on the ground for Alaskans haven't changed. We still face the highest health care costs in the nation. Murkowski is the chair of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, which oversees the Interior Department and its funding. The Alaska News Dispatch report also alleged that Zinke placed a call to Alaska's other senator, Dan Sullivan, and expressed the same message about Murkowski's vote.

Crowd at health care rally urged to thank the three Republicans who voted against repeal

Cia Gillis cheered with the crowd during a health care rally at City Hall in Cambridge. CAMBRIDGE — Organizers of a rally for affordable health care Saturday urged a crowd of about 100 people to get on their cellphones and personally thank three Republicans credited with blocking the law's repeal. Mickey Jay Thomas, a local disability activist, last month was part of a demonstration by disability advocates who traveled to Washington to speak out against a health care law repeal. The rallies come a day after a Senate vote rejected a bid by Republican leaders to strike down parts of the Affordable Care Act, which became law in 2010. Dr. Umbereen Nehal, the state director of Doctors for America, told the crowd she was motivated to join the health care fight because of to a 3-year-old she diagnosed with leukemia in the years before the Affordable Care Act.
