HUNTINGTON – Two lawsuits against the city of Huntington alleging it violated state code by making changes to healthcare coverage for current and retired police officers and firefighters have been consolidated. The city claims the changes will result in an annual savings of $1.6 million for the city. He claims the city and the mayor have no express or implied authority to modify or change his retirement health benefits that were bargained for and agreed to under the contract.
