Georgia DT Trenton Thompson withdraws from classes due to medical issue

He also had "very bloodshot" eyes. The report says Thompson later told an officer, who asked if he was on medication, that he had taken "two oxies" (OxyContin). "The adverse reaction required emergency transport to Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center where he was treated and released. He finished the season with 56 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss and five sacks. He was the MVP of the team's Liberty Bowl win over TCU when he had eight tackles and three sacks.The EMS was called, and Thompson was transported to a hospital where he was kept overnight and later released. Georgia defensive lineman Trent Thompson has withdrawn from classes for the semester as a result of a "significant medical issue" and an overnight hospitalization this week. A police report stated that authorities found Thompson with "glassy" eyes, "unsteady on his feet" and incoherent. Trenton was recently discharged from the hospital and remains under close medical care.
