Good news for medical marijuana users: You may soon be able to buy a weed inhaler.The catch, however, is that the product will be sold only in Israel, where pharmaceutical company Teva Pharm signed an agreement to market a medical marijuana inhaler previously used in a hospital, Reuters reported.The company said this is the first time the medical marijuana industry has complied with pharmaceutical standards for inhaling the plant, which is the most efficient way to administer it.

Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (TEVA), a generic drugmaker headquartered outside of Tel Aviv, announced Monday that it will partner with another Israeli firm, Syqe Medical Ltd. (pronounced "psyche") to market a medical cannabis inhaler in the country.The product is designed to treat pain without getting patients high.The device, which is similar in appearance to a futuristic asthma inhaler, delivers precise doses, potentially resolving one of doctors' main complaints regarding medical marijuana: the lack of certainty about how much a patient should take, how often and in what form – not to mention how much they will consume in practice, when left to their own devices.

A great battle has been won in Florida for a more comprehensive medical marijuana program thanks to Florida voters overwhelmingly voting for Amendment 2.But the war still remains in that Amendment 2 is a very short piece of legislation that gives huge power to Florida's Department of Health (DOH) to make rules for Florida Medical Caffeine Treatment Centers (MMTCs).Amendment 2 simply states that DOH must come up with regulations for, among other things, "[p]rocedures for the registration of MMTCs that include procedures for the issuance, renewal, suspension and revocation of registration, and standards to ensure proper security, record keeping, testing, labeling, inspection, and safety."
