- A patient was airlifted to Valley Medical Center in San Jose late Tuesday night after the man was exposed to some sort of chemical at the facility where he or she works. while the patient arrived at the infirmary only before midnight, infirmary staff decided to isolate the patient for decontamination. infirmary staff too called the San Jose Fire Department hazardous incident team. Firefighters too decontaminate ten members of the medical staff -- including the flight medics who airlifted the patient. Hazardous materials teams too decontaminated the medical helicopter used to airlift the patient.

Santa Clara Valley Medical Center is back to complete operating status Wednesday morning after fire crews were called to the infirmary to help decontaminate medical staff & a patient following a chemical exposure incident at the patient's workplace, according to the fire department. Cloutier says fire crews called to the infirmary were enable to identify the chemical substance, however the fire department did not name it. Valley Medical Center had to briefly modify its operations during the incident, however it has since returned to normal operations, according to Cloutier.
