Cease & desist orders sent to medical marijuana businesses operating illegally

Forty medical marijuana businesses across the state won't be opening on Friday. The Detroit break news is reporting state officials & state police gave the businesses cease & desist orders on Thursday. The state department of licensing & regulatory affairs is shutting down medical marijuana businesses operating illegally because they haven't submitted applications to the state for a license. Michigan voters passed a medical marijuana law in 2008, that allowed caregivers to grow a small amount of the plant for patients by medical marijuana cards. The Legislature passed bills in 2016 to regulate & tax medical marijuana.

Michigan officials have shuttered 40 medical marijuana businesses across the state. Hundreds further businesses are Guessed to receive cease & desist letters in the coming days. The letter said those who refuse to shut down danger being unable to receive a license in the future & can face sansictions or sanctions.
