Augusta Holocaust center director leaving to hike Appalachian Trail, pursue music medication

AUGUSTA — Liz Helitzer going to have a lot of time to reflect on her tenure as executive director of the Holocaust & Human Rights Center of Maine. She's leaving in early April to hike the entire Appalachian Trail before starting a music medication graduate school programme in Ireland. David Greenham, the center's programme director, going to become interim director on Wednesday. He began working by Helitzer at The Theater at Monmouth, where he was the producing artistic director, & he said she'll be missed. Helitzer is leaving the center "in major shape & poised to move forward under the leadership of others," Greenham said.
