Ohio sued over medical marijuana grow licenses

various groups led with Jimmy Gould of CannAscend Ohio LLC filed a grievance Tuesday in Franklin province popular Pleas court challenging the Ohio Department of Commerce's process for awarding the highly sought after licenses. Joining CannAscend in the grievance are Appalachian Pharm Products LLC, CannaMed Therapeutics LLC, Palliatech Ohio LLC, Trillium Holdings Inc. & Schottenstein Aphria LLC. The grievance names as defendants Ohio Department of Commerce Director Jacqueline Williams, 3 scoring consultants & the twelve companies awarded Big-scale grow licenses. The department was sued in December over state law requiring which 15 percent of all marijuana business licenses go to minority-owned businesses. 3 of those companies are cited in the grievance: Cresco Labs Ohio LLC, Grow Ohio Pharmaceuticals LLC & Terradiol Ohio LLC.
