Some 85 percent of the state's employers offer health benefits, with 83 percent saying they do so to attract and retain workers, according to the New Jersey Business & Industry Association's 2016 Health Benefits Survey, released Monday.At small businesses, where there are 24 or fewer employees, health benefits are offered only 76 percent of the time.But in order to offer such benefits, 33 percent of employers said they took a lower profit or experiences losses, and 29 percent said they froze wages or offered just minimal increases.
